NAFBAE is the trade association for farriers, blacksmiths and agricultural engineers. It helps protect the interests of the craft whilst demanding the highest standards.
The WCF was established in 1356 to oversee farriery. The Company still has the responsibility for securing adequate standards of competence and conduct among persons engaged in the shoeing of horses.
The RCVS is the regulatory body for veterinary surgeons in the UK and ensures that standards within the profession are maintained, safeguarding the health and welfare of animals and the interests of the public.
